The Challenge
The client needed a crypto exchange platform that could serve the MENA market while meeting strict regional regulatory requirements around KYC/AML and Islamic finance principles. Existing white-label solutions lacked the flexibility to accommodate Sharia-compliant trading models and Arabic-first UX. The platform also needed to handle volatile trading volumes — from 500 to 50,000 concurrent users during market surges — without latency degradation.
Our Solution
We engineered a custom exchange platform from the ground up with a high-performance order matching engine, multi-currency hot/cold wallet architecture secured by Fireblocks, and an integrated KYC/AML pipeline using SumSub. The trading engine processes orders in under 50ms with automatic load balancing across regions. We implemented a Sharia-compliant trading mode that excludes leverage and interest-bearing instruments, along with a fully bilingual (Arabic/English) interface with RTL support.
